Customs and Tax Guidelines
Key Customs and Tax Regulations
Our company specializes in shipping Australian health supplements to Taiwan, providing high-quality products for the Taiwan market. To ensure smooth delivery and avoid additional charges, all shipments must comply with Taiwan’s customs and tax regulations.
Below are the detailed rules for sending health supplements from Australia to Taiwan:
1. Restrictions on Shipping Health Supplements
• General quantity and weight limits
- Up to 12 bottles/boxes/cans/bags per product.
- Up to 36 bottles/boxes/cans/bags per parcel in total.
• Exceeding the above limits
- If the quantity or weight exceeds what is considered for personal use, customs will conduct a review and may request additional information such as product ingredients, usage, or supporting documents.
- If customs determine that the items are not for personal use or exceed reasonable limits, the parcel may be returned, require re-declaration, or be destroyed according to regulations.
• Duty-free threshold and import tax calculation
- According to Taiwan customs regulations, parcels with a taxable value (product price + shipping cost) under NT$2,000 are exempt from customs duty, commodity tax, and VAT.
- Parcels exceeding NT$2,000 may incur additional taxes. Customs will determine the applicable tariff classification and calculate the tax accordingly.
- The tax exemption only applies to personal-use shipments. Bulk purchases or shipments deemed commercial must follow standard import procedures and be declared in accordance with the law.
2. Taiwan Duty-Free Rules and Customs Clearance Notes
• Half-year duty-free limit & shipment frequency
- Taiwan applies a natural half-year system (January–June / July–December).
- Each recipient may enjoy up to 6 duty-free parcels per half-year period.
- A parcel is eligible for duty-free entry if:
- Its taxable value (product price + shipping + insurance) is under NT$2,000, and
- It does not contain tobacco, alcohol, or quota-controlled agricultural goods.
- Starting from the 7th parcel, taxes will be applied according to product category.
• To avoid delays, please ensure the following:
Correct declaration:
- Accurately provide product names, quantities, and values.
Misreporting or under-declaring may lead to customs inspection or delays.
Respond promptly:
- If customs or logistics request additional documents, information, or payment, please respond immediately to avoid processing delays.
• Possible outcomes after customs inspection
- If the parcel contains prohibited items or the recipient refuses to pay taxes, the parcel may be returned to the sender or destroyed (depending on product type).
- If the recipient fails to complete required procedures on the EZ WAY platform, resulting in return or destruction of the parcel, all related costs and losses must be borne by the consumer.
3. Shipping and Logistics
We use standard international air parcel services. To ensure smooth delivery and customs clearance, please note the following at checkout:
• Provide accurate address
- Ensure full and correct recipient information and contact details in Taiwan.
• Parcels returned due to incorrect declaration
